What Hair Oil Should I Use? The Perfect Oil For Your Hair Type + Quiz

by Emma

There are a lot of different hair oils on the market, and it can be hard to know which one is right for your hair type. In this blog post, we’ll go over the different types of hair oils and which ones are best for each hair type to forever get rid of the question “what hair oil should I use?!”.

What hair oil works best for you depends on your hair type. If you have oily hair, you’ll want to look for hair oils that are light and non-greasy. These can help to control oil production and give your hair a healthy shine. If you have dry hair, you’ll want to look for hair oils that are moisturizing and nourishing. These can help to hydrate your hair and prevent it from looking dull and lifeless.

What hair oil for curly hair?

If you have curly hair, you’ll want to look for hair oils that can help to define your curls. These can help to add shine and definition to your hair while also keeping it hydrated.

What hair oil for straight hair?

If you have straight hair, you’ll want to look for hair oils that can help to add shine and moisture to your hair. These can help to protect your hair from heat damage and make it look healthy and vibrant.

No matter what hair type you have, there’s a hair oil out there that’s perfect for you. By doing a little bit of research, you can find the perfect oil to help give your hair the healthy shine and vibrancy you’ve always wanted.

Olive Oil for Dry, Curly, or Frizzy hair

Olive oil is one of the most versatile oils you can use on your hair. Olive oil is a great choice for dry, curly, or frizzy hair. It can also help with split ends and breakage. You can use olive oil as a deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner or as a pre-shampoo treatment.

Olive oil is a great choice for your hair because it’s full of vitamins and minerals that will help to strengthen and repair your strands. The antioxidants in olive oil are especially good for dry, brittle hair, while its fatty acids will help you achieve softness and shine. Olive oil can be used as a leave-in conditioner or as a deep treatment mask. Just warm the oil in a bowl over low heat, then apply to dampened hair.

To use olive oil as a leave-in conditioner, simply rub some oil into your palms before running them through your hair from root to tip. This will add some moisture and protect the cuticle of each strand, adding extra shine and strength. You can also use this method after styling or whenever you feel like your hair needs an extra boost. To get the most out of this treatment, start with freshly washed dampened hair and let it sit for at least 15 minutes before rinsing it off. Finally, olive oil is great to use as a deep treatment mask once or twice a month. For this much time intensive option, massage warm olive oil over dry strands in sections (with added heat using steam or warm towels if desired) then cover with shower cap; sit for 30minutes – 1hour before washing out completely with shampoo and conditioner an ever rinse well with cold water.

You can buy pure olive oil to try on your hair. If the idea of putting pure olive oil in your hair might scare you a bit, there are also oil combinations with olive oil made specially for hair treatments, and shampoos or conditioners that contain olive oil. Castor Oil for all hair types

What hair oil is good for all hair types? Well, Castor oil is a good choice for all types of hair. It softens and conditions dry, damaged or overprocessed hair without leaving it feeling greasy. Castor oil also helps prevent split ends from becoming brittle by replenishing the natural nutrients of your scalp and follicles. It helps increase blood circulation to the scalp, which in turn promotes healthy hair growth.

For best results, mix one teaspoon of castor oil with two tablespoons of water in a small bowl, then whisk together until smooth. Apply this mixture to damp hair and massage into your scalp until fully absorbed into the roots. Leave on for five minutes before rinsing out thoroughly with warm water (this step helps to seal in all of those nutrients).

The oil can also be used as a hot oil treatment for an extra shine and conditioning boost. The products below all contain caster oil.

While it might not really be an oil, Shea butter is an amazing moisturizer for dry, frizzy or flyaway strands because it has plenty of antioxidants that make it great for styling too! Shea butter also helps soothe irritated scalp by reducing inflammation while providing moisture to your locks. You can use it in the shower to wash your hair, or you can apply it to dry hair and then style as normal. Shea butter is easily absorbed into the strands, so you don’t need much of it at all!
