That means no more harsh cleansers, no more exfoliating, and no more picking at your skin (this one might be the hardest… Try using hydrocolloid plasters or pimple patches on spots you want to pick at).
Do this for about a week.
Step 2: Restore, And Start With The Basics
Okay, you ditched your usual routine. Now, start with a basic skincare routine that includes a simple and gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF. Don’t sneak any active ingredients in here – no harsh acids, vitamine c, etc! Also avoid fragrance and essential oils. We’re serious!! Your cleanser should do nothing else than cleanse, your moisturizer should do nothing else than moisturize, and your SPF should do nothing else but protect your skin from the sun. Okay? Okay.
Use a soft washcloth to cleanse your face twice a day. Be sure to use products that are appropriate for your skin type. For example, if you have oily skin, look for a light, non-greasy moisturizer. If you have dry skin, look for a thicker cream or lotion.
