Best Face Wash for Hormonal Acne

What is the best face wash for hormonal acne?

A face wash is a crucial component of a healthy skin care routine because it keeps the skin clear of extra oil, dirt, and pollution that accumulate on the surface throughout the day. Even though cleansers are a daily necessity, some of them offer much more than just skin cleansing. Many skin problems, including hormonal acne, can be treated with the aid of some cleaners that have active ingredients. A special face wash for hormonal acne can really help you out!

Here are my top three favorite hormonal acne cleansers!

What is hormonal acne?

In adulthood, hormonal acne can manifest as painful cysts (cystic acne), painful whiteheads, and blackheads. Acne prone skin often has an overproduction of sebum, which clogs pores and causes pimples, is a contributing factor in hormonal acne. Even though hormonal acne is frequently unavoidable, a good hormonal acne cleanser can help to stop new outbreaks from developing and calm down current outbreaks.

Hormonal acne is undoubtedly a difficult condition to treat, but even though the cause tends to be internal, effective skincare techniques can still be beneficial. In fact, treating the problem that appears on the skin’s surface can be greatly improved by using good skincare such as a hormonal acne cleanser. While acne can happen on your face and body, today we will look at face cleansers.

1. CeraVe Acne Foaming Cleanser

I bought the CeraVe Acne Foaming Cleanser for (hormonal) acne the moment it became available in the EU. I had heard a lot of positive things about it online, and with CeraVe being a trustworthy brand overall, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it!

This is a great and cheap cleanser for acne skin. However, if you live in the EU you will miss out on one important acne-fighting ingredient: benzoyl peroxide. The US version has 4% benzoyl peroxide, and the EU version does not. It still has other active ingredients and still helps with maintaining your skin’s moisture barrier. I only tried the EU version.

Every time I use it, I begin by washing my face with warm water. I use the cleanser all over my face, letting it sit for around 30 seconds so I can get the full benefits. I follow that by rinsing the product with warm water again.

After a few days, I did notice that my skin seemed calmer. It left my skin feeling hydrated and soft as well.

This cleanser is one of the most cost-efficient and efficient skin care items I’ve tried in a while, costing under 20 USD.

2. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Gel Facial Wash

I have reviewed this cleanser before, and it is still one of my favorite cleansers (dare I say, the best face wash for hormonal acne? In my opinion, of course…).

The goal of a cleanser is to remove excess oil and debris from your face. However, if a face wash is designed for oily skin, such as hormonal acne cleansers, it is often created to be extremely stripping. So if you have oily and sensitive skin (like me), you’re in for a ride. La Roche-Effaclar Posay’s Gel Facial Wash has zinc pidolate. This cleanses your skin without drying it out.

I can use this cleanser twice daily without getting dry skin!

3. Facetheory Clarifying Cleanser C2

I don’t think Facetheory gets enough love. I have tried out many of their products and have never been disappointed. Let’s talk about their Clarifying Cleanser C2. This one is great for combination and oily skin types.

Glycolic acid (4%) and lactic acid (1%) are used in this hormonal acne cleanser to exfoliate, remove dead skin cells, and enhance the overall texture and look of your skin. This clarifying cleanser is thorough enough to remove pollutants while not being overly drying. However, I like to use this hormonal acne cleanser once a day instead of twice.

Don’t miss out on my latest product reviews!

I hope you will find the best face wash for hormonal acne suited for your skin. I have tried a lot of products, and no matter the hype about the product online, some products just don’t work for me. It is frustrating, but there are products out there that will suit you!

Please remember to look for three things in a hormonal acne cleanser: good cleansing ability, anti-acne ingredients, and hydration!
